Eldorado Cuts
The Objective: Bring a local barbershop in to the 21st century with a web presence.
The Execution: Created and hosted a website specifically for Eldorado Cuts Barbershop. Photos were taken of the shop and staff to be added to the site along with directions to find them (in the service department of Eldorado Chevrolet). As each barber maintains their own calendar it was decided that no scheduling application was needed; just basic contact information.
The Outcome: Within the first 3 months the shop saw a 25% increase of new customers. Two years after creation they are still getting new customers that found them through the website.
The Copper Lamp
The Objective: The Copper Lamp was Dallas’ premiere antique sterling silver and fine china shopping destination for over 60 years. While they had a website, it was difficult to manage and did not tie in their inventory. The plan was to make it easier to manage, increase SEO, and become a go-to source for silver pattern matching. Later work included additional features such as a bridal registry and e-commerce that would work within their manual processes.
The Execution: A new website was designed and built from scratch to manage and display an inventory of over a thousand sterling and silver plate flatware patterns. A bridal registry was later added. A custom e-commerce solution was built, but due to manual processes and lags in staff updating inventory it was disabled. All the flatware patterns in stock were photographed and added to allow for easier pattern matching.
The Outcome: Numerous first page results in Google, Yahoo, and other search engines for key search terms. Increased phone sales from non-local customers due to the bridal registry and rare patterns now visible on the site.
Other Notes: This work also included weekend assistance behind the shop counter to both learn the product as well as assist the business in general. While the shop no longer has an independent store front, it still maintains a smaller presence in another store as well as online sales through ebay. The site remains as a way for customers to still find them
Grits and Wine
The Objective: Build a brand from the ground up for a prominent Texas Wine blogger.
The Execution: An initial search of domain and social media user name availability was used to narrow down branding options, with Grits and Wine being the final choice (GRITS: Girl Raised In The South). The website and logos were designed to reflect an essence of Southern Belle.
The Outcome: The Texas Wine industry has a passionate voice which works to make wine more accessible to those who are afraid of wine being too out of reach. Wineries have made sales due to reviews posted on the site.
Knotty Pleasures
The Objective: Build a brand from the ground up for a wood working
The Execution: An initial search of domain and social media user name availability was used to narrow down branding options, with Knotty Pleasures being the tongue-in-cheek final choice. The logo is a Green Man with crossed lathe tools to invoke an older world feeling of being in touch with nature crossed with the irreverence of the pirate skull and cross bones. As the brand grew, the crossed tools changed based on the project and type of woodworking. A website was build to display the wooden wares and offer an e-commerce option for purchasing without having to wait for a craft show.
The Outcome: Knotty Pleasures has made sales in 5 states, including repeat customers. Social media work has resulted in the account being able to monetize Meta reels. The brand itself is continuing to gain visibility in the wood working and craft world.
Forgery Collection
The Objective: Build a novelty brand for selling print on demand products.
The Execution: The brand was originally built to parody larger brands and fashion, but has grown into an outlet for random ideas and irreverent designs. The website was connected to Printful for automatic processing of print on demand orders and Stripe for payment processing.
The Outcome: Early market validation with several multi-purchase design runs. As an internal ERCubed venture, its growth roadmap remains intentionally flexible, stepping aside whenever client deliverables take center stage.
